The real live data has been measured and it is OUTSIDE the error bars. Do you understand the significance of that little fact?
If you grasp this then it tells you what I am trying to get at. 16 years is enough to falsify the models are they were? proposed by their creators.

But another thought I had about the 15 year pause and the? models is that Arctic ice is melting a lot faster than the models predicted (in other words more heat is infiltrating that part of the system than projected). 90% of the heat occurring secondary to the energy imbalance is going into the ocean. So 1) Regarding the entire system, there is no pause; 2) Imagine if just a tad bit of that heat was diverted into air surface temps
Part 2 of Models: The whole point of the models is to say IF a given set of conditions occurs, THEN a given outcome is probable; and then it breaks down different temp ranges? and assigns probabilities to them.
So far the real temps are still within the error bars of the models, even though there's a lot of disinformation out there about such. The model runs that tracked reality the best were the ones that had conditions that closely matched reality's conditions.
Why is the 16 years thing the gold standard on if the theory is correct?
The models? are useless only as prediction machines. If you're hoping the measured temp is going to squiggle up the graph in lock step with the model, that ain't gonna happen. Do 10 runs with the same exact model and same exact conditions and the model ain't gonna agree with itself, at least in short time intervals, like 15 years.
The lags are everywhere: 100 years, 200 years, 600 years, etc. depending on which study you look at. But the smoking analogy? is deficient because it doesn't involve a positive feedback effect. The earth tilts a bit -->sun heats up the earth -->CO2 is released-->little bit more heat and H2O vapor-->CO2 is released, etc. until the earth tilts another way and the loop is defeated. Because the tilt starts off the cascade, there should be a lag.
Huh? Did Mann define the word 'pause' as no statistically significant warming at the 95% level? Because at the 90% level,? there is SS warming. Did he make the statement casually, or was it in a paper he wrote?; because it would be tough to get such a conclusion through peer review.
Anyway that's not making sense to me: 'No SS warming for 16 years' plus one out of thousands of scientists 'statement' that 'a 15 year pause casts doubt on the models' doesn't collapse the GHG/land use theory.
It was Michael Mann (not me) who said that a 15 year? pause would cast doubt on the models. CO2 has never been perfectly coupled with Temps.
