**NOTE: Everything on the ipod will be restored to factory settings, meaning that all music, apps, etc will be deleted. Make sure to backup everything you want to keep! STEPS: 1. Download iTunes 10 from here: /itunes/download/ 2. Download the firmware for your iPod Touch 2G/3G from here: puter. 4. Choose your iPod Touch 2G/3G from the list on the left. 5. By pressing the Shift key(in Windows) or the option key(in Mac OS X), click on the Restore button. 6. Now browse and choose the firmware which you downloaded .ipsw file. That's it! Now iTunes starts to update your iPod Touch 2G or 3G to the given firmware.

I didn't make a video of me actually doing this, because it didnt really require one. When creating new user, please make sure it is an administrator user. "LOG OFF" your account, then log into the new user account you created. Once windows has finished configuring the desktop and has loaded all programs. Run iTunes (iTunes will want to install) & make sure your iDevice is not plugged in. Once the installing is complete, then plug it in. Just click the update button and allow iTunes to complete the update, and you're done.. you can now switch back over to your normal account. but you must "LOG OFF", not "SWITCH USER".
